Description

The General Compliance Program Guidance (GCPG) is a reference guide for the healthcare compliance community and other healthcare stakeholders. The GCPG provides information about relevant federal laws, compliance program infrastructure, OIG resources, and other valuable information to understand healthcare compliance.

In early November 2023, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) issued compliance program guidance for the third time (the first two being in 1998 and 2005). Compliance programs and healthcare have changed and evolved significantly since that time, and OIG's guidance considers that evolution in this new guidance. From Board oversight to Compliance Committees to risk assessments and everything in between, learn what the guidance means for the program and tips for incorporating it during this presentation.

Adherence to OIG compliance program guidance helps organizations promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct while reducing the risk of fraud, waste, and abuse. Organizations need to tailor their compliance programs to their specific industry, size, and risk profile while staying informed about regulatory requirements updates and changes.
